JB4 Interface Connection Problem for Windows Computer

hey guys so im having issues getting my laptop to work with my JB4. ive used multiples windows computers with no luck. Everytime i connect the usb to my laptops it immediately detects that the jb4 is plugged in so there is definitly a connection going to the computer. My problem is getting the computer to say "connected" in the actual interface. I downloaded the drivers and did everything it said to do but when i go to the correct Port number is still does nothing and the connection fails when i hit connect. i really dont know what to do. has this happened to anyone else? i really want to get this thing hooked up. thank you
