Nexus 7 Infotainment Setup - Complete DIY Kit with Software
Up for sale is everything you need to dash mount and hook up a Nexus 7 tablet "infotainment" system, with a very close to OEM look. This includes: - Nexus 7 tablet, rooted with Timur's kernel installed (enables audio out over the micro-USB plug, automatically goes into standby when power to the tablet is cut by the car turning off). - FiiO E10K USB DAC and Headphone Amplifier (Great quality DAC, processes audio from the Nexus USB plug and outputs to a 3.5mm jack. Noticeable audio quality improvement over the stock USB/3.5mm jack). - Kuda dash mount (low profile, OEM style leather finish matches dash) - ProClip Device Mounting Adapter (sliding adapter for secure attachment to the Kuda mount and easy removal. Mounted with screws to the Kuda mount and double sided automotive tape to the Nexus, very firm). - All associated cables (Everything you need to run one plug carrying audio and power from the Nexus on the dash down through to the center compartment and connect to the DAC and car). --- 6ft micro USB with 90 degree plug, greatly enhances the "OEMness" of the install, to run from the Nexus 7 to the --- USB OTG + power (allows the DAC to get audio from the Nexus, and has a Y-split to run power off a USB lighter plug in the center compartment) --- Second micro USB cable to run from the OTG adapter to the DAC --- Short 3.5mm cable to run from the DAC to the car audio plug This was a very easy DIY, even for a first-timer like me that hadn't worked inside the 3 series before, and I ran it with no issues for over a year. All the parts, accessories, and software together for this ran me about $350 total. I'm looking for $230 via PayPal, I'll cover fees and Priority shipping. I'll also include a pack of matte screen protectors for the Nexus if you don't want a glossy look. Pics below, feel free to contact me with any questions. I also included a comparison shot of the 90 degree plug with a regular micro-USB to show how much cleaner it makes this install. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Without 90 degree plug ![]() With 90 degree plug ![]() Last edited by JoeRogan; 06-12-2017 at 02:12 PM.. |

Unfortunately not, I pulled it off a few weeks ago and didn't have the foresight to take pics first. However the DIY thread here has some: http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1093426
My install has cleaner cables than that one, and comes with a better DAC (his was cheap and died if I remember correctly). |
