No boost, wastegates open! Please help
Hello everyone,
Yesterday, my wastegates became full open (I can tell from the exhaust sound) and I have absolutely no boost at all. I already had this happen last year and it was the vacuum line to the front wastegate actuator that was disconnected. I do have vacuum in the lines, I inspected every lines except for the one going to the rear WG actuator (it is connected to the actuator but could not remove it to check for leaks). What's really weird is that I do not have any codes (No 30ff, nothing) I do not have the vacuum canisters anymore (haven't had them for over a year now). I bypassed the boost solenoids by connecting the lines from the pump directly to the lines to the actuators.... still nothing, This is the worst timing because this morning is the Eurokracy festival and I was supposed to track the car. Oh Well Any input would be appreciated! Thanks!

Why can't u check the rear wga nipple to see if the hose is on? If I reach down u can feel the nipple with your hands and should be able to put the hose on if it's not on

When my intercooler coupler popped off I couldn't make boost and I also had no codes. Are you sure it's the wastegate? Can you manually move the wastegate to see if it can actually move?

I was able to check that the rear hose is on the nipple from the bottom (no place from the top because of the inlets) and it is on. I was also able to move the rod from the rear actuator by hand and it's not seized. I am not able to reach my hand fat enough to remove the hose from the nipple.
It must be something related to the wastegates because the exhaust is LOUD. Much louder than usual. |

I just did and I think the rear actuator hose might be leaking... I replaced the hoses from the vacuum pump fittings to the boost solenoids and I am now able to get 10psi.
I can still hear at least 1 open wastegate and boost builds veeeeeery slowly so there must be another vacuum line that leaks so tonight I'll replace both WG actuator hoses. I will report back as soon as I am done. I hope I won't have to remove the rear inlet as I have the relocated VRSF kit. |
