By the time this would come out, you wouldnt need such a long bonnet to house the 3 cyl engine...

Not sure why you say that. The e36/8 does have the Hofmiester kink. In fact, the e36 is one of the pictorial poster cars in the Wikipedia article on that design element. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hofmeister_kink

The M coupe is an iconic design, it's the base design for the Ferrari ff

I would kill for a modern day coupe/hatch. Lose the chrome though!

E36/8

The key part being the /8, which is the chassis code for the M Coupe manufactured from 1998-2002. Completely separate car from the E36 3-series.

This is a gorgeous rendering!
I would order it immediately (as long as the chrome can be replaced with a shadow line).

I really dig this rendering. It's got overtones of the Ferrari GTC4Lusso, which is a fantastic looking car. The B-pillar-less design looks great, that C-pillar design would completely destroy rearward visibility. Although, it's not like the Z4 M Coupe design had any better visibility.

I think it'd be awesome if BMW ran with this idea. The E36/8 and E85 coupe are two cars with an absolutely rabid cult following. A big part of BMW culture is built upon these quirky one-off designs with a small, but very passionate, fan base.

E36/8 was not just the M coupe, it was also the Z3 coupe. E36/7 was the roadster and E36/8 was the coupe - Z3 or M.
