Audible Lock Confirmation...?

I was wondering if anyone WITH i-drive, but WITHOUT the upgraded alarm has gotten their E90 to beep when being locked and unlocked?
Ordered my car last week, so I'm trying to decide if I need to get the Upgraded alarm to make the car beep when i lock it.

You get the sound only with an alarm installed and activated. E90 is not configured with any ALARM as a standard equiment, but the option. Therefore, you won't get any chirp arm/disarm sound no matter you have i-drive or not. With DIY alarm installation (~ $230) and the dealer activation ($75-$150), you will get the chirp arm/disarm sound (plus other alarm features of course).

Thanks, was just trying to decide whether to order the alarm now, or wait till I actually get the car to see if it made the chirp on its own.
