Swirl flaps delete question
Hello forum..
Yes i've tryid to search but did not find my answer.. (Maybe im not the best at searching if so im very sorry) I decided to do alot of work on the car today.. Wagner intercooler, Red boost hose, Flaps block off ang EGR race pipe.. Pulled the intake manifol and took the Flaps out.. Doesnt look like the CBU is so bad for a 92,500 mile 335D .. ![]() I installed the block off plates but what do i do with the Actuator? Leave as is? with connecter on and blind the vacum hose? or Remove it at let the connecter hang loose and blind the vacum hose? ![]() Thank you. |

I've also been considering a delete. But "just 'cause".
My understanding is that the North American cars aren't as prone to the swirl flap failure, so is there really any benefit? |

Based on the videos ive seen in youtube......remove the rod, leave the actuator... but you can search youtube and there are videos of it.

Thanks, Floyd. That's the one thing about looking at the threads from my phone. I can't see their location info.

I asked whitbread as I was doing mine.....he said you could pull the actuator all together (electronic one), so I did......mine is sitting on the floor of my garage in a box....along with about 20 other 335d parts that I have removed

For the OP and his Euro version I would leave the EL valve plugged but input/output cappped off to prevent contamination. Vacuum line capped off or trimmed to the distribution box under the manifold and capped off there at the nipple. The rest of the vacuum actuator and rod you can remove. In Europe, you have vacuum controlled swirl flaps and no positional feedback so it's much simpler than in US/CA.

The swirl flaps were deleted on my 2009 335D before I bought the car. They are leaking oil and the O-rings look terrible. I’ve been googling and cannot find any swirl flaps deletes that are not from China. Any suggestions where I can either purchase, high quality new O-rings or deletes
