wastegate rattle question (procede users?)
Hey, last summer i got my turbos replaced and they rattled somewhat on accerlation right away..
Now after i installed VRSF DP's last weekend, the rattle became pretty loud. My question: On procede, i have wastegate position set at default 90%. Can i raise this value? to 95% or 100% or will this cause problems? From my understanding many have reduced this value up to 30% to get rid of decel rattle, but since i have rattle on accerlation shouldn't i try to raise it? or am i totally lost. Also i read someone got rid off the accerlation rattle with playing on WGDC's? - Rattle seems to go off 95% when i unhook vacuum lines from turbos. - With Procede maps 1&2 rattle is 95% gone when revving in neutral?? - Maps 0,1,2 All rattle the most when accerlating with gears 2&3 somewhere around 2-3k rpm Any ideas / tips ? - Thanks! |

(Just asking if he has replaced all vacuum lines)

when i had my turbos replaced i asked them to replace the rest that connects to turbos. If you think it still could be vacuum related, what would be easiest way to check? Should i change boost solenoids just incase? Last edited by Beisofmarko; 07-10-2017 at 08:46 PM.. |

Are you sure the wastegates were adjusted properly on the turbos when they were installed originally? Sounds to me like the rods are adjusted too long or something along those lines.

and if i understood right, the accerlation rattle comes from front turbo? so i cannot even try to tighten the rod 1-2 turns to see if it helps. |

I was doing some tests yesterday by disconnecting vacuum line from front turbo vacuum canister and the rattle was still there on accerlation but 90% quieter. Then i connected front line back and did same to rear turbo and same thing, rattle still preset but 90% quieter? So i cannot really say where rattle is coming from exactly.. Sometimes i swear that i allmost can feel the rattle "binding" in pedals or something. Happens only in accerlation at 1800rpm and again on somewhere between 2500 and 3000 rpm. Also rattle is really loud in driving conditions but much quieter when revving in neutral. Leaving parking lots feels uncomfortable.. Frustrating :/ |
