I drove my 2009 as i'm lucky to be about an hour from the shop and so took in for a tune after reading lots of info about it.

The tech pulled into the shop, ran a diagnostic and found turbo/vacuum leak(s) and some other codes. NOx sensor, Smooth running cyl 6 indicating major CBU. I've read the NOx sensor don't usually go but if they read identical pre and post SCR then it may be more of an issue that the DEF has crystalized and plugged up hoses, pump or nozzles. What a wonderful system!! I took the easy route and will no longer be needing the DEF... ever.

Took about an hour or more to get the ECU out and reflashed. Software only, no hardware.

My driving impressions after one week: the 335d is much quicker. Acceleration quicker and i have not (nor ever will) gone for a top speed run.

I have the Torque setup for turbo boost, coolant temp, exhaust gas temp, intake air temp and volt meter. i measured a peak of 30.2 psi, coolant temps same 80-90 deg C, exhaust temps normal with some good heat generated on those full throttle pulls 500 deg C plus but less than during the DEF regens which hit over 600 Deg C.

Does the Torque App have a DPF regen button??


I have not logged the mileage but i suspect may be less due to many full throttle punches in the last week. Once the car starts pulling it is very hard for me to let go. Similar to riding sport bikes for me, once on the throttle i don't like to let go until redline or... something forces you to slow down.

It appears my discharge pipe may be leaking through the two orings. I know lots of people buy new... i want to fix for $5 bucks or less.

Has anyone changed these? appreciate a part number.

Also any other vacuum lines should be changed while i'm in there? i will be changing my a/c belt as it's squealing like a pig...

Torque app will not force a regen. Need Carly or Schwaben tool for that.

Both can be bought from www.fixmyvw.com for cheap. That's where I got mine from a few months ago.

Change all vacuum lines, not a bad idea to do pressure converters too.
There are 2 pressure converters that are the same part number: 11658509323

is there two o rings on turbo to boost hose or from boost hose to intercooler?

are the vacuum lines all the same size and just need to buy a few feet?

i need to buy 1" silicon elbow for the oil catch can install

10 feet of vacuum line from www.fixmyvw.com is what I used. I believe it was 3.5mm. There is one O-Ring from turbo to boost hose, and another O-Ring from boost hose to intercooler. Use www.realoem.com to find a diagram for it. That's where I pulled part numbers from.

For pressure converters go to ECS at about $68 each.

how do you know it's time to change the pressure converters? are the ECS ones OEM or aftermarket? the stock ones are $149 each so... are we talking HKS here? I have no problem going after market as long as the quality is decent...

ecs sells Kaiser brand. They also supply OEM. I would post a picture for you but I'm on my phone.
