Why isn't this thing coming off ?
I recently bought some matte black grilles, and I tried to install them today. I took out the slats nice & easy, and the right top portion of the grille. When i got to the left side, no matter how many times i spinned my torx screw, the stupid screws wouldnt loosen at all. the middle seemed to loosen but the left & right side won't come off at all. Did anyone experience this ? how do i go about loosening them... ?
thanks

they were over torqued when installed by the factory... if you use a power drill and go too far they just destroy themselves... to get mine off i had to break the crome piece on my hood then rip them off... had a tech with me and he said that the people that put those parts on do it reallly fast... so they strip alot of them

strip = making the X portion of the screw all messed up so a screwdriver wont have any torque on it. When you try to un screw it, you aren't gripping anything.

I dont think you stripped the head of the screw I think you broke the threaded connector behind it.
This happened to me as well. Just rip it off carefully....

no, this happened to me. you just broke the plastic oart that holds the thread in. you will have to remove the chrome part separately, then break off the plastic part. you will need to buy a new grill.

It happened to me too! I just bought a replacement chrome piece from Tischer for around $10 or something like that. It's really cheap.
Or you can just take it into the dealer. From what I've read, it's covered under the warranty. I was just too lazy to take it in. GL!

HAH! 1??? Try 4......
Take it to a bodyshop and have it fixed. They don't usually charge for the labor, but I tipped them 10 bucks.
