E91 335i touring exhaust options..

So i picked up my 2007 E91 335i touring M sport yesterday. Cracking drive home and a lovely motor indeed.
But....i have been used to Tvr's etc for a few years and find the Bmw a little bit quiet in the exhaust department.

Any recommendations to give a fabulous power plant a more deserving sound ??

Cheers Sandy

Lots of options about Eisenmann; Supersprint etc etc (search the interweb). To retain warranty etc many go for the BMW Performance exhaust. Lovely sound under load, but no motorway drone.

P.S. If you do decide to go the OE route, Cotswold BMW parts dept give a discount to members of this forum.

Thanks, i take it the touring and coupe are slightly different exhausts?

Cheers.

I have the BMW performance exhaust with the secondary cats removed and it sounds spectacular imho.

Another vote for the BMW performance exhaust here. Had mine a few years and it still makes me smile. Quiet when you want it to be but opens up nicely under acceleration.
Cold starts can be a little embarrassing in certain environments, it makes a real racket for the first 30 seconds or so!

Yes, according to RealOEM they are different. A useful website for part numbers if you've not come across it before:

PE mod to your current backbox
Remove secondary cats and cut out the last resonator and replace with X pipe

PE mod is very well known or here and the wider internet.
There are plenty of guides on here or just give it a google.

Secondary cats would be an exhaust place job and the X pipe can be taken from a coupe/vert and just joined up (the pipework is all identical - I have one in my garage that I don't want anymore)
