Interpreting MHD Datalogs

Not sure if you all have access to this file but a very good guide for all of us new to the MHD tuning platform and what to look out in the data logs.

This was written by another forum member and checked by MHD himself.

Thanks for sharing.
Can anyone tell what the 'actual torque' value is.

Is this the torque on the wheels or on the crank?
I'm running a stock N54 and I have an 480Nm torque at 5500 RPM, which is not really realistic for a stock N54.

Yeah i tried to figure that out and never did. Not sure what the 'actual torque' value is.

If you upload your log to the virtual dyno software you can get indicative power & torque figures at the wheels. https://barnhill.bitbucket.io/

A quick (probably dumb) question...

All this datalogging stuff is all based off the car at maximum output when the car is smashing out at high revs at 3/4 gear.

Would looking at this data and then re-tuning the car help the car at all in situations such as.. normal day to day driving.. low rpm.. in traffic etc.?

Is it really worthwhile getting an expert to check your data and to provide a re-tune? Will it be beneficial at all in those normal daily conditions or is only gonna give me improvements at crazy speeds only? or both?

(I am running the stock MHD Stage 2+ tune atm)

A generic tune will give you an increase in performance but as each car is slightly different and the mods vary considerably, the only way to get the best performance and efficiency out of your car with its mods is to get a custom tune which requires datalogging for development.
