Could Carly be the cause of my blown 20A Fuses?
I've been having an issue with my 20A fuses for the footwell and console sockets. I thought they were being blown by the Anker 2 USB sockets I had plugged in so I bought some new scosch ones and replaced the fuse and plugged in the new sockets and left them for a while and everything has been good until the other day I noticed that they were blown again.
The only thing I can think of was doing some coding using Carly (I can't remember what I coded though). After doing some reading here people were saying that the FRM coding kept the voltage(?) high during coding so I'm thinking that might be the cause. Since the fuses are so cheap I figured I could replace one, code something and check right away to see if it's blown, but I figured I'd ask around here to see if anyone else has had any similar issues or might tell me I'm crazy that those sockets aren't on anything that Carly would affect. |

I agree, no. My e87 has a very sensitive 20a fuse to the cig lighter. If I hook up a dash cam to the rear outlet, pop. If I hook it to the front outlet on the same fuse.. No issues. If have hooked up a 110v converter to the rear and powered my lap top and fine as well. Carly does not even connect up to switched power.

Probably not, but Carly will kill your battery if you leave it plugged in and the BT device is within range. That was over a year ago for me so things may have changed by now.

Thanks everyone, it just seemed odd that it worked fine for a few weeks, but then I noticed it blew again after I did some coding. Purely coincidental it seems.

Nope. I code with Carly and my 335.
Have been for years with no issues.
