Nelson Ledges on Friday May 16th

I'm going to Nelson Ledges next Friday May 16th for an open track day. Great to see any fellow forum members there.

never been to a track like that. Are there any safety requirements that one should be prepared to face?

Do you mean you haven't had your car on a track or at Nelson in particular? If you've never been to a track, I wouldn't recommend an open track day for your first time. Instead, I'd recommend a Northeast Ohio BMWCCA club school. There are a couple more this summer at Mid-Ohio. Or, the Northeast Ohio Porsche club is doing a couple schools this season at Nelson.

If you just mean it would be your first time at Nelson, then it's about as lax as any track there is. They check nothing. If you have a helmet, you are good to go.

The only track I have ever been to is Norwalk, and that was when I had a running '98 Crown Vic (15.8 woo-hoo) and my '04 TL (15.2 - retarded clutch). I have never been to a road course.

I was considering a club school, but I think I will wait for any road track stuff until next year. Too many things going on this year, and it's supposed to get busier at work.
