Fortunately, I’m fairly low on the rung in here.

Converted to USD it's $144K + Bonus.

It sounds decent, however when the average house in Sydney costs over $1 million, it is all relative.

Wow. Sounds like SF. IIRC, If you make less than $150k, you're considered poor if lived in San Francisco. Funny isn't it?

Ok...I live in the bay area..my house is worth $1.2 mil. I drive a fully loaded 2013 335i, wife has a 2013 Mercedes c250..save money each month, stocks are good. I am officially near poverty. It's all relative as to how much you make.

Agreed. Also, to be fair, how much your house is worth doesn't equate to how much you make. If someone making $150k a year bought a house 5-6 years ago for $500k and it's worth $1.2M now, it doesn't mean they would be able to buy that same house now at that salary. I think it just further backs up your comment.

150k still gets you a spot in SF now? I swear you at least need 200k to be considered middle class to live in SF, it's so inflated there.

On a side note, my parents house in the Sunset district is now worth literally twice as much as it did 10 years ago. So there's that. Yay for artificial inflation.

It's definitely inflated. Twitter is not doing so well so when that goes, and maybe other tech companies will follow suit, the market there will drop like a rock.
