ProgMan v29.2 + ECU v80 + piggybacks

Hi,

It seems to work. Tested with the Attaché. So I expect it will work with most of the piggybacks currently available. Great news. I thought it's worth a new thread .

Does the "warranty gone" tattle tale work also?

AFAIK this is still unknown. Even when it would not be visible to the dealership, it could be visible to BMW ( speculation ). ATM it seems that most of the piggypacks will work technically, which is a great first achievement to know.

Its good to know that Piggies will still work... There some people that their warrantee is to be expired (or expired already) so the last thing that would be interested in is to know that BMW can trace them.

Well, the warranty period is different in the countries. In Switzerland it's 3 years. I understand that warranty is important for quite a lot of people. For me it's not that important because I know I will not try to get near to any limits of the N54 or the turbos and I respect the capabilities of the 6AT steptronic. I always promote that IMO an ECU tune should have supporting hardware to remove stress from the associated components and gain in longevity as well.

IMO the 335i will never be a 1000 bhp track car. But it can be a very nice and fast 400 bhp daily driver, which is what I want to achieve.

First, I'd love to have BMW offer a 30-40 HP flash based upgrade.

However, though a newbe to mods, I have never heard of a manufacturer offering such things (aside from options on the original car).

I can see different wheels, airflow lift/drag/downforce modifiers, maybe intake or late stage exhaust mods (e.g., IS-F decoration exhaust), etc.

As I said, I'm new to this. Has BMW offered an aftermarket flash on any other car model? What about other car manufacturers?

I'm just looking for examples of this. I'd wait if I thought this was likely. Otherwise, I plan to either A) SSTT + procede 3 + catless DP + LSD + FMIC + intake, or B) just SSTT or Dinan stage 1. Actually, only considering B (though I have sport oil cooler - I do know SSTT combined with procede wouldn't be a great idea).

Thoughts appreciated.

You cannot combine SSTT with other tunes. Bad idea.

Lets wait to see some more people updating to 29.2 and after that do a diagnosis.

The only surefire way to keep this from popping up is to keep fuel injector on-time at, or close to, stock levels throughout the revband. I'm not convinced that the absence of codes/driveability problems proves that you are in the clear. In terms of performance (not diagnostics), it seems as if the 29.2 update will allow the car to support 300-330whp depending on gas formulation (More ethanol content=lower power limit). Should have more info by Tues or Wed.

Cheers

So 330whp is all we can expect from now on?

So if you have a SRT4, and buy factory Mopar Performance engine parts, stg 2, etc...would you have your factory warranty voided? Anyone have experience with them? I think Mopar has one of the few factory made turbo performance kits. I don't think I ever recall Mitsu or Subaru making kits for their Evos/Sti vehicles.
