H&R Replacement Rear Strut - Or use OEM?
Got a 2008 E92 335xi with the H&R Street coilovers. Rears are shot. Can I put some OEM struts on the rear and be fine?

I'd contact H&R for a direct replacement. If that's not an option, I'm sure you could use OEMs and they will be better than blown shocks but they aren't really designed to work with a setup that stiff.

You might be okay as a "get you mobile" option while your replacement H&R shock comes in, but I'd be worried about the longer shock bottoming easier since the springs are shorter. I don't think its a good long term solution, but if you've got a set of old OEMs sitting in the garage, it might be worthwhile.
