Exclamation "SOLDADO Will Make SICARIO Look Like a Comedy!

If you have not watched one of the most Epic films of the past 5yrs, Sicario, do yourself a huge favor and do so asafp!

But if you have watched it, you may have heard that a sequel (more of a prequel) is inn the works. It will detail the the story and origins of Benecio Del Torro character (Sicario/Hitman) prior to becoming a "Anti Drug Cartel Hitman for Hire!)

In case you haven’t seen Sicario, it is not a lighthearted movie by any stretch of the imagination. It’s dark, gritty, horrific, and now Sheridan says he is doubling down on all of that.

From the Director:

Quote:
When I told them I would write it, they asked for the traditional studio call and the outline and all that, and I said, “No, no, no, guys. The first one was original. I’m just going to go away and I’m going to come back with it and there you go.” And they trusted me to do that, and then read it and were like, “Ah, shit. We’re in a lot of trouble.” It makes the first one look like a comedy. Yeah. I’m not the guy to ask to write a sequel.

Absolutely! Fantastic television.

Honestly... aside from a few epic series: Game of Thrones, Power, Penny Dreadful. NETFLIX is killing Cable TV in terms of "original and quality" shows!

Penny Dreadful was good for a season. After that it suffered from shitty sequel syndrome. The ending was terrible.

3 main things
1: we lose the 2 main characters Emily blunt and her partner who we got to learn the brutality of the cartels world along them , now we get to follow the other 2 from the original who themselves we know are already pretty Savage and desensitized
2: too many scenes where the dialoge simply didn't fit with the images on screen and the drone shots just cluttered it even more
3: lastly , the movie imho isn't really for to be a sequel more tlike a knock off piggy backing on the graphic portrayal of the cartel's underworld with too many sensationalized scenes of people either shot up or blown up , a terrorist setting off a bomb while a mother pleads with here child
I simply think it was trying too hard to out do the original in graphic violence it forgot the nuances of character development and interactions

Great movie. Watched in UHD/HDR and Atmos is last night. There is the constant thrum of the soundtrack in the background that gives you the sense of tension and grittiness of the movie.
