P21s or Zymol ?

Hi all,

Up until now I have been using P21s Wax paste on my new E90. It's getting close to having to duck out to purchase more.

I now have the option of getting into the Zymol wax and heard that it is also good stuff.

Between the two - which is the better ?

Fritzables.

You might want to be a bit more specific. Zymol makes many different types of wax that range from $20 to $30,000.

Give me the color of your car, and your price range and I will be able to lead you in the right direction!

It's the Sparkling Graphite.
I am prepared to spend around $200 for something good.

For around $200 these are my favorites.

The Zymol Concours will run you around $175
http://www.autoanything.com/car-care...&from_search=1
(Free Shipping from autoanything)

and

The Swissvax Concorso will run $240
http://www.detailersdomain.com/index...ROD&ProdID=113

(Type "FMINUS" in the discount code thing and you will receive 10% off for detailersdomain)

You really cant go wrong with either of the two, but I personally like Swissvax Concorso better on our color (SG).

Aaaahh yes, had forgotten about Swissvax - I've heard that rates as the highest on the wanted list?

i've read the lower end zymol waxes (under $80 per tub) are not very good. i've also heard good things about CG 50/50 and p21s 100% carnuba (grey top) which is different then plain p21s (blue top).

P21S is one of the worst waxes you can use. Yes its very easy to use and looks good, but it its make of beeswax and will not protect your paint from UV rays, and it does not last.

The new grey top is a good wax but not worth the asking price IMO.

Zymol line, start with Glasur and move up, all the rest below are junk.
SV line, start with Saphir and move up.

From novice, I gave away my P21S to a friend after one /two tries. It's too oily and won't last more than 2 washes.
I thought I was nuts since people seems to like P21S wax. Never try the expensive version so can't say but I trust FMINUS opinion on that one.

So I'm pretty safe getting the Zymol Concours then....

Yea, I also found the P21s was good (I thought) but didn't last very long at all. My polishing regime is 1st coat GLANZ (syn) then P21s for the extra shine - relied on GLANZ to give me the longevity.

P21s gives a great shine, but use a sealant for protection. I have used it on my wife's Mini and have gotten good comments.

Thanks TRICKE90,

What sealant are you using - sorry for the basic questioning but need to feel like I'm looking after my E90 the best I can :-)

I like ChemicalGuys JetSeal 109 the best out of all the sealants I have tried.

If you go with JetSeal 109 then application is a bit different than other sealants. To get maximum results you would do all the steps up to sealant and then pull the car in the garage. Apply JetSeal and let it sit on the paint for 12 hours. From here you can repeat if you have the time and energy for maximum results, or you can just throw on some wax and call it a day. Either way you go you will still have amazing results and protection.

Here is JetSeal 109:http://www.chemicalguys.com/Auto_Det...wac_118_16.htm

But I think you need to buy from a different source because I doubt ChemicalGuys will ship to you.

don't mean to hijack the thread, but i did the 15 hr dry / haze up time, wiped off, then 1 hr cure time you mention. but since then i've been hearing i did it backward and instead i should have allowed 2 hr dry time and 15 hr cure time.

now i don't know what to do, and i don't have the time to allow 15hrs dry time and 15 hr cure time for 2 coats.
