Can the bimmertech amp be used to power standalone sub as well

Hey,

I have the Bimmertech amp which is driving the speakers in my M3. If I get a trunk sub as well, are there enough channels on the PP to drive the sub or would I need another amp to drive that?

Well if you buy the Helix 82dsp and or download the manual
it says the factory version will allow you to assign 4 channels
to a sub which gives you 200 watts I believe. But the Bimmertech
harness may not be layed out to do that. So you would have to talk to
them for clarification. I believe they only use 6 channels out of the
8 also. 100 or 200 watts doesn't seem to be enough for a proper sub.

The Bimmertech amp is the Helix 82dsp that they
have customized by Helix to run on low level inputs.
The minimum I would think about is 300.

Depends on the sub, your output desires and what you want to give up- the amp is currently running 7 channels so lose center channel and then you have two remaining. Something like a reconfigured PP8E would work fine from this (just as an example).
