Total Electrical Failure
I have a 2007(12/2006 prod) 328xi that lost power everywhere except to the front positive post. The key FOB just slides in and out and no components have power. This happened after replacing the negative battery cable and IBS.
I checked all fuses in the glove fuse box, and replaced the rear distribution box, positive battery cable/BST, terminal 30g relay, and it's the second new, fully charged and load tested battery. I also opened up the ecu compartment and checked the 2 fuses I could find. There is also a pink relay that I have no idea of it's function. This car has been grounded for several months now. It's become personal and don't want to have to take it to the stealer. Any ideas of what it could be or what I missed? |

The website shows that this is on the driver's side under the motor...
"On other vehicles such as the E90 BMW 3-Series (06-13) the ground cable connects the driver's side engine mount bracket to the body." https://www.fcpeuro.com/blog/posts/b...ry-replacement |

Exactly as John described it. You will need to get to it from underneath the vehicle, drop the under body panel. Rough position is around the firewall on drivers side. Last edited by Wolf 335; 08-22-2017 at 04:27 PM.. |

Yeah I believe the one just underneath the driver side goes bad most of the times...

Could this be the cause?
