Vibration at 140km/h??
I switched out my winter set to a summer set a few days ago. My summers came off of an E90 325i that I had onto my new E90 335i (both sedan).
I'm running 19x8.5 front, 19x9.5 rear with 235/260 tires. I initially had vibration in the car, felt it at the steering wheel. Took it to the shop, had the tires rebalanced, steering vibration gone (would happen at around 80km/h), but then the car started to vibrate at around 140km/h, not at the steering wheel, but it seems like its coming from the bottom of the car. This is especially noticeable when I go up to 140 (before than no vibration) and then in 4th or 5th gear, slowly start to press on the gas pedal going up to 160. It gets very vibrational inside that sometimes I have to slow down to below 120. I had the shop rebalance again yesterday. Vibration at 140 has gone down considerably but its definitely still there so I'm taking it back again this evening. One thing that I forgot to mention is that I have hubcentric rings (rubber) on the hub onto which the wheels mount. They told me that my rims (even though they were fine without those rings on the E90 325) needed these rings so that they don't move around. They are apparently on there but with these switches of wheels, not sure any more. Any ideas guys? |
