Well ordered a bundle from Chemical Guys and here it all is.
I have a few questions??... To get experienced with polishing and stuff should I start working on like old cars with messed up paint or what any suggestions on how good the Dewalt is? Its pretty heavy ![]() ![]() ![]()

So you are starting with the dewalt?? Have you ever polished a car before??? Ever used a PC before?
I worked with a PC for almost 2 years before switching to a rotary....GL and be careful... Before you ask anymore questions about rotaries...here...http://www.autopia.org/forum/machine...ing-guide.html |

![]() When I said PC I meant a Porter Cable 7424. It is the tool that everyone starts out on...Almost zero risk to hurting the paint...a rotary (your dewalt) is a totally different machine...VERY high risk of hurting the paint if you don't know what you are doing...maybe you already knew that..but your phrasing of the post was confusing to me....so figured it couldn't hurt! ![]() |

If you've spent that much already, you may want to just drop another $120 and get a random orbital to start with.
![]() The DeWalt rotary will still be right there, waiting, for when you want to switch up. |

We will see, this was all really expensive. We are going to be trying it out
on some bad paint, and as known with the Dewalt less pressure has to be put on because of its weight.

read the reference provided above, i only have a Flex and found that very interesting. also, check out this thread in detailing bliss, a guy posted HD video of him using a rotary. very large files but the HD works great, allowing you see the polish being worked and setting up. http://www.detailingbliss.com/forum/...tyle-3493.html |

+2 My thoughts were exactly the same as oneshare325.
I have to admit, I'm envious of all your new stuff. Like Christmas!

I will be careful, that is why I am using cars that the paint is already pretty stinking bad on before I even think about putting it on a newer/nicer car

PC orbital $120 (New Harbor; Lowes), new paint job $$$$. You really need alot of practice to be able to 'see' and detect what you are doing. It's quite easy to go from no problem to major burn marks in a very short time span with a rotary.

One thing you need if you don't have it yet are halogen work lights on a stand. Check Lowes, Home Depot, Sears, etc.
