How often...

How often do you wash your car?

I just bought an '07 335i Sedan, Montego Blue... I washed it after driving it home (a long drive, bugs everywhere...)..

I had it out in the rain yesterday.. I just washed it 3 days ago - I feel like I should wash it again since there's the rain spots / dirt from the road on it!

I think its just cause its new to me, I want to wash it all the time, but for a regular wash I don't think its a problem right? I can't wait till it gets a bit nicer so I can really go through these tips on the board and get it washed, clayed, and waxed / sealed!!!

Montego, im the same way I just got mine a week or so ago. I would suggest after a long drive, thats for sure. Now im in the same position as you, i just washed a few days ago and it just rained last night...i feel like i should get those rain spots off as well LOL.

So i wanna know just as badly as you do, cause if i keep washing at this rate...the car will be down to primer in no time

About once a week. If I miss a week, it drives me crazy.

but like he said, what about after a rain... any need to rush out and get rid of the water, or is it safe to let it sit for a few days?

at least once a week, sometimes more.

but you raise a good question b/c as careful as we might be each time we wash we create at least some marring and added up over time this will create noticeable swirls. i polish twice a year, so my marring doesn't stay too long so i'm comfortable w/ washing as often as i would like.

I usually wash my cars once a year. I leave the 335i outside and I've only washed it once after 3 months so I'm washing this care more than usual.

Let it ride. Mine is a DD, so it's never going to be "perfect," but I keep it as close as I can, within reason. I don't have the time to wash my car more than once a week.

Twice a week on average. It is probably to much but with black, it doesn't look right unless it is clean. God bless ONR! Makes life much easier for me!!

I have a metallic black coupe, so the metallic in the paint keeps a pretty good look to it...even when it has a lil pollen and dirt on'er. My car is brand new, im just wanting it to look this way forever LoL.

what i have been doing is going to the spray and wash in the middle of the week, then if i see some good weather on the weekend, im washing it by hand for some evening cruising

Once a week- but it's that time of the year again and that stupid 150 year old pine tree right next to my garage is spewing yellow pollen like it is going out of style- I have to quick dry it then pull it in the garage and shut the door.

to be completely honest, i used to do it every other weekend. Now, it's once or twice every two months. I haven't had time to wash my cars anymore

I would very much like to wash and wax every weekend though
