I have searched the forums and read about claybar use, etc. However I'm still unsure as to where in the process it falls?
Wash - claybar - wash? Wash - claybar - ?? After you claybar, do you have to wax? wax then seal? Or can you just claybar, wash / rinse and be done? |

Simple answer: Wash - Clay - Polish - Seal - Wax (opinions will vary as some steps can be combined depending on the products you use ("all-in-one" products).

+ 1... but a compound is just a rougher cut polish and may not be needed if the car is relatively new or the finish has nothing but minor swirl marks (a compound may be doing more harm than good as you taking off more clear coat with a compound)

![]() So, if its new(er) and doesn't have swirls, etc... I can skip the polish? Or, should I use the Klasse AIO which doesn't seem as abrassive - just a very very fine polish? |

Klasse AIO and similiar products are perfect if you car has little to no swirls or you don't care about removing them. Klasse AIO is a chemical cleaner with NO abrasives, which means it can't remove swirls, only clean the paint. if you notice swirls to be reduced after Klasse AIO it is because every liquid you use on your paint will to some degree fill imperfections in your paint (i'm not talking about using oils etc. purposely to act as a filler). Klasse AIO also leaves a protective layer behind.
similiar products: Meguiar's NXT 2.0 (very little cleaning power however), Duragloss #101 (mostly a cleaner which leaves a thin protective layer), Duragloss #105 (mostly a sealant with very little cleaning power).

You can certainly skip the compound and depending on the results desired use an all-in-one product like Klasse AIO. Generally speaking, the best results are achieved by doing steps individually, all-in-one's are around for those that don't have the desire or time to spend doing each step individually. Klasse AIO is a mild polish and sealant combimed and is very good for it's intended purpose, ie, performing two steps at once.
