oil change that's not $170?
Hey All,
I just picked up my car a couple weeks ago and I'd like to do an early oil change but I'm not cool with paying $170 for it from a dealership. Is there a shop around who has quality oil/filter (bmw oem prefered) that can do the change for me for quite a bit less than what the dealership charges me? Only catch is you have to take amex and I'd prefer that you are in the long beach/whittier/riverside area. Thanks! |

The cheapest is to buy oil and filter yourself (and you may receive a 10% courtesy discount from the dealer) and take it to an independent place to change the oil.
Star Tech BMW Service in the City of Industry does the service for $26. You can watch them do it so you know they will use your new filter.

Contact Charlie, cea_3 on here, he's in Rancho Cucamonga. I know you mentioned Amex, but his price is probably better than the others mentioned. Or you can do it yourself

amex = work pays for it.
If I have to I'll do it myself but I live in an apartment so it's a pain here. Where are you natureboy? I can bring the stuff and beer and we can do it at your place np! |

Try this 15% off parts coupon from LB BMW...http://www.longbeachbmw.com/specials/parts.htm
...FYI when I called the Parts Dept they said the coupon doesn't apply to the Oil (just the filter)...the following day I went to the dealer and they took 15% off everything (oil and filter)...I guess it just depends on the salesperson?

Its a pretty easy DIY..the oil filter is located right when you pop your hood on top...and then you just barley have to jack the car up to open the little plastic flap to the drain plug.... the whole thing takes about 10 mins tops. |
