Hi Guys,

I know not many people are a fan of the MGP Caliper Covers, so please kindly keep your opinions to yourself.

I'm from the UK and i'm struggling to find a set that will fit my vehicle, does anyone know where to get a set that will fit a UK 2011 LCI 325d Msport E92?

Is the US fitment any different than the UK fitment? My issue is that the US don't have the 325d model, so none of the websites have an option for the 325d, only the 328i. I don't want to order a 328i set from the US and them find out they don't fit when they arrive!

If you've got a set fitted to your car please chime in on where you bought them from.

My reason for trying to get them is because i've just a had a fresh set of wheels, centre caps, dustcaps and spacers fitted, and the rusty calipers are bringing down the overall appearance of the car. I don't need Brembo performance so no need for me to spend silly money on something I can cover up with the MGP's for £150-£200, I'm aware this is purely for aesthetics and has no real benefit other than maybe shifting a bit of brake dust.

Another option would be to paint them! That usually turns out pretty nice, I've done it on a few of my cars. I cannot comment on fitment though unfortunately.

Yeah I did think about going the painting route but unfortunately painting them is not such a long term solution in terms of how the paint would look in a few years time, plus, with the covers I have the option to remove them and return to stock when selling up. Thanks though.

Paint held up pretty good on mine, just use a high temp caliper paint and they will look real glossy, easy to clean and extremely rust/corrosive resistant. Good luck with the project!

You can even use high heat engine paint , not as high as calliper paint but it has nicer colours, holds out for a few years then chips

I have painted many calipers with long term success (including my 335i). Just use quality paint and prep correctly.

I always do black for a clean look. I can post some pics if it helps.

I doubt anyone here will be knowledgeable on cover compatibility anyway...

I fitted mine a couple of years ago and they still look like new. They stay clean and require virtually no maintenance.
I recall having some fitment issues for my 323i and I had to get 2 replaced, so I would check with MGP directly (which was were I bought mine from).

Most people I know think plastic caliper covers are ricey.

I can also attest to how well caliper paint works too. Just clean and prep well and it'll stay on no issues.

Don't do it. You actually have a tastefully modified E92. I know what you said about opinions, but I'm keeping this respectful.

Get a G2 paint kit. Has lasted 2+ years for me now, calipers are still glossy silver when the car is cleaned properly. Also, it's way cheaper than caliper covers.

Plus, why would you want something potentially preventing heat escaping from your brakes, and has the ability to come off and cause a damage/safety hazard?

Not sure, but maybe even finding a set of 335i brakes? I think they are bigger, and would perform better. Have no idea about the swap, but there are plenty of used caliper sets from people who went to BBK.

Painted callipers look tacky, c'mon what's the point in drawing attention to the fact you have stock brakes. Just clean them up.
As for calliper covers I have an opinion but I will keep that to myself

I painted my stock calipers silver (which is the stock color when new). Looks 1000X better and shouldn't look tacky or ricey considering that's what they come with.

We have a supplier who offers MGP caliper covers if anyone is still interested.

Thanks, not sure why I hadn't thought of contacting MGP directly, that seems the logical way to go in terms of finding whether they sell a set that fits. Think I was put off by the extortionate oversea's shipping in terms of going direct to MGP to buy them . Cheers!

I've contacted them asking if they have a set that will fit my model, do you think its worth sending them the part numbers for the caliper housings and caliper carriers?

I think the main thing they'll want is your VIN#.
There are so many different versions of brakes around for different regions and models so you probably won't be sure until you actually try fitting them.

Thanks, but as per Scanspeaks post, these aren't cheap plastic covers, they are aerospace grade aluminum and the powdercoat is a much better quality than anyone could hope to put onto our rough ugly stock calipers!
