Getting rid of oil service light?
Is there anyway to clear the oil service light yourself? I got it changed around 12000 (at 1 year along with inspection), and they didn't reset the oil service light. So now i'm at 14950 and it's telling me I need an oil change.
I'd like to avoid the dealer as I am 29.2-a-phobic and warranty-void-a-phobic. Can you reset this yourself? Or will I have to go to the dealer?

well, you're entitled to your annual oil service, along with your reoutine service. you have the oppurtunity to get another service for free if you would like.
The annual oil change doesnt get the light reset, only at the mileage required oil services.

I'm not sure how far away you are from Carr Industries in North Carolina? If any shop has an Autologic diagnostic unit, like Carr, they can reset your BMW codes and clear or change service intervals, and a whole bunch more stuff.
