A Conan O'Brian question for members from Finland
ok, i'm getting a little crazy about this so i hope someone can answer me here. i hope you all know the late night talk show host conan o'brian that had this whole deal with your president, tarja h. now, before the olympics began, he was supposed to go to finland and do this whole thing there talking to people, doing skits, etc, etc, and bring it back and show it on the show. the olympics are over and i've been looking forward to see what happened and so far, he hasn't mentioned finland once since last before olympics.
so, basically my question is, wtf is going on??? was he in finland or not? if he was, do you guys know anything about it? did he meet with your president? i can't believe he was making such a huge deal out of it before the olympics and now doesn't even mention it for a second. hope someone can bring some light into this "mystery." thanks!

ha ha, thanks but they still didn't mention whether or not he will cover some of that visit on his show.
and since he was there, i don't get why he wouldn't even mention it...

Conan is the man! It will be nice when he is on earlier after replacing Leno in a few years to come.

i don't really know what he does because i only saw snippets of his show, and that was already too much cheezyness for me to handle in one night. his jokes are incredibly stupid and will never be on the level of conan or any other late night talk show host, to that matter. it's sad that he keeps hanging around, just sad. i think he secretly hopes to be promoted to conan's job when leno retires. well, let him keep hoping...

Hey, Vlad - I'm also a Conan fan and I agree with you that he's the best (funny how you mentioned his college-fanbase because that was when his show dawned on me). The best part about him is that he's such a clown and is always self-deprecating.
Jay Leno's staff has better writers, skits, and a bigger budget though. So hopefully some of The Tonight Show's talent will bleed over into Conan's cast when he moves to the primetime slot. I wonder what's going to happen to Kevin Eubanks?

yeah, i was thinking about that as well. when conan moves, is max weinberg 7 going to stay with whoever will be chosen to step up after conan or will they go with him to do the tonight show? if they move with him, seriously, what's going to happen to kevin eubanks' band? unemployed? :confused?
i've seen conan's show live twice already and i can say that max's band is simply amazing. i'm a musician myself so i really appreciated their skills and music feel. i hope they stay with conan.

I am pretty sure the Max 7 is going to tag along with Conan. I just think there's no way Conan is going to give up his buddy, who he shares a long showbiz relationship with, for some stranger's band.
But if history repeats itself, Conan will definitely stick with Max - when Johnny Carson left with Jay Leno to replace him, Jay Leno didn't keep Doc Severinsen.

Conan is in HD. CF and the Colbert are not...hence the reason why I keep to Conan. I think Conan maintains to be funny but hey, different strokes for different folks. That's my kind of comedy - and similar to my line of jokes in real-life!
The killer part takes place during the interviews. Jay Leno, Letterman, CF - everybody else is truly a bore during the interviews with guests. Conan, however, remains a clown and continues to deliver laughs upon laughs. That's why you never get bored of him whereas Jay Leno (among the other subordinate talkshow hosts) are overly stoic.

ha ha, yeah, i taped it. i kind of hoped it'd be a little different, a little more crazy but i guess he was trying not to offend them much. i was very surprised how respectful he was the entire time...

That episode was great. I love Conan O'Brian in general, but that episode was just hilarious.

I can't wait to see this Finland episode. We'll have it here on Wednesday this week. I'm pretty sure he gave completely wrong picture of our country but that's o.k. he does the same thing for US as well.
