my car is struggling on cold start

i have a 2011 323i and as of last week since the weather started to get a bit a cold my car has been doing weird stuff on startup. the rpms start jumping up and down as if the car is struggling to idle.

today was really bad as it dropped to around 400 rpms and the car felt like it was about to die, then it bounced up to 1500rpms and did this back and forth for a good 20 seconds. everything is smooth after it warms up.

i read about leaky injectors and what not but i only have 70,000 km on the car? i also have a very tiny vc gasket leak but its just residue, very minimal. so i don't think thats it.

just looking for any thoughts or possible insight here, thx

A weak battery perhaps?

I would do 2 things...

1. Throw in a bottle of injector cleaner see if this helps...

2. Do a load test. Remove battery and take it to your local auto part store. They should do this for free? Have you ever replaced the battery?

i have some chevron fuel cleaner on the way, definitely will try that. Also I had the battery replaced just a few months back actually.

Make sure its the Fuel injector cleaner though... I fixed mine with a bottle of Chevron a while back when I had the same issue as you...

keep us posted.

i tried cleaning the maf but no luck, gonna double check i have no vacuum leaks anywhere but i doubt thats it.. pretty sure it is the injector as this is only happening on cold start. idles and drives perfectly once warmed up (assuming after it burned all the excess fuel in the cylinder)

here is a video of it. going to try to run the fuel cleaner today and see if it does anything if not off to the mechanic i go.. ill keep this updated with the solution in case anyone has the same issue
