Going to dealer for service, but now found Grinding noise.

Well I have a service scheduled in the next couple of days (oil and cabin filter). These past 4 days my girlfriend drove the e90 and I would always watch her pull out and drive off. I hear a grinding sound when the car shifts 1-2 (tranny issue noise). e90 has 11k milles

The problem is my car is a XI and its dropped on H/R sport springs and I just dont want the dealer to say that was the cause.

What is the likelihood of them saying this?
Or how can I phrase this problem to them.
