Armrest USB Not working + Music options
My 2011 e90 with Nav., the center armrest USB has never worked. My old media setup was an iPhone charger in the glovebox and an aux cord in the armrest. I just got an iPhone 8 Plus, so no headphone jack. I want to find a solution where i can charge my phone and play music without using that stupid dongle. I really don't want to go bluetooth if possible.
Also my speakers have been getting worse, could be related? or just wear and tear? Any ideas? Fuse blown (but Aux works)? Anything helps! |

For sound you need to identify your sound system this has nothing
to do with the Head Unit or Idrive. Does a USB stick work in your USB slot. Do a printout of your cars options with one of the free online Vin checkers. When you say your speakers are getting worse is this from all sources , Cd , Radio and USB. Either you have to find a way to emulate that or perhaps you should buy a bluetooth dongle to attach to the aux. Sorry that Apple didn't forsee this problem. about:reader?url=https%3A%2F%2Fjalopnik.com%2Fappl e-s-new-iphone-doesn-t-have-a-headphone-jack-what-1786330098 Last edited by ctuna; 10-24-2017 at 02:09 PM.. |

If you have the 6fl option for usb you should be able to play any file
format from a fat32 formatled usb stick from the center usb console. If you want decent sound in that car you need to upgrade the sound system. |

I'll tell you my story too.
First I found anything besides FAT32 doesn't work for file system coding on my usb port. That was with 1 mp3 file loaded on any size stick. I also discovered my old 16GB standby usb stick was at the end of its life. Started taking longer to scan, load, and delete files from it than before and sure enough I often couldn't play anything off it when plugged into the car's usb port. Sometimes portions of songs would play, but FF, RW, etc, didn't work. Damn thing just sat there. I got another new stick, loaded the tunes, and haven't had a problem since.
