Posting on behalf of cousin getting jolted by Mitsubishi dealership (real long)
Here's a recount from my cousin's point of view of a jerk-filled Mitsubishi dealership that he had to deal with recently. If you guys have any ideas or help, we'd really appreciate it:

Did your cousin try a different dealership? Finally, you need to post cliff notes, it's quite long |

Give your money to someone who takes you seriously/respects you. It even says in the post there are a few dealers in the area.

Sorry it's so long. A lot of it was actually part of the letter/written notes we had for talking with Mitsubishi Corporate. I think every detail is as important as any other, however!
He went with the deal simply because it was (although not very close) the closest to where he lives and because the price was very good. Little did my cousin know that the price would come with a grudge and other baggage hanging over his head. We had gone to a couple other dealers to shop prices, but in the end it was Napleton that was willing to listen to my cousin's price the most. He's definitely staying away from them now, but wants some sort of retribution for these jerks, so that it won't happen to anyone else. He really regrets it, but the deal is done. :-/ |

Sorry to hear about this. My local Mitsubishi dealership was the total opposite. Easiest car deal I've ever done was on my Evo 8.
I, too, would have walked out upon asking to put a deposit down. |

Mistubishi treated me the same way when I wanted an Evo IX, what a bunch of douchebags. No wonder out of seven STIs in the three high schools near me (whose drivers I know, anyways, there may be more) there are exactly ZERO Evos.

Thanks for the support and perspectives, all. Yes, unfortunately like we had mentioned, financially we had performed and were rewarded the best at Napleton. With the economy these days, and all the hours we work, it was just the best price, infact the price we had wanted from the start. We didn't know that in the window sticker there would be a secret added option for "Worst Service Ever."
We're going to file with the BBB and check out some government contacts we can find in the area. In the meantime, staying away from the dealership will be number 1. Now to find a day off so travelling out to the next dealership won't take long so I can get my keys fixed. |

no disrespect but i blame you.
right from the start the dealership treated you like crap, and you stayed. they then made you feel useless, and what did you do? gave them $500 of your money you then went to get back your deposit, after all the crap they put you through and what do you do? you ended up buying a 35k car. and now you want all of us to feel bad for you. most normal people would have laughed in the salesmans face and walked out in 30 seconds. you end up buying a car. i understand where your coming from but i have no sympathy for you. there are always going to be people pissed off with every business. Automotive, cable, restaurants , landscaping, contractors, plumbing etc. not everyone can please everyone. but you had a chance to not go through all this. it wasnt like they were so nice at the beginning. they used you as a doormat from the first minute. and you took it and stuck around for more sorry bro, your at fault |

I sell vehicles and the deposit is very common (every deal) its a sign to the dealer (who is working to make both parties happy if they are good) some assurance that is for nothing! with that being said I excell in the company for the main reason of not profilling it gets you no where! I have many many repeat clients and clients who send me more business based on how up front honest and friendly I am with them! I have been on the other side of the fence and its not easy! I was mad just reading this because I know its all games!! and the survey needs to be EARNED

We're not asking for sympathy, but rather some resolve and consequences for this dealership so it won't happen to others. As for my cousin's early $500, he was mislead. He was told that he could get it back with no questions whenever he wanted, but the dealership didn't fulfill. The dealership seemed to want to resolve everything by cutting the price. Maybe we had stepped into a couple things (ignorantly), but the majority of this was unwarranted. A lot of what we had realized was in retrospect, at least early on. :-/ |
