Bimmer Performance Center 335d Custom Exhaust
I figured this would be a good little intro as well. I'm the Social Media/ Photographer for Bimmer Performance Center. Some of you may have already seen some of my photos on our Facebook page and/or instagram feed. Im hoping to help keep everyone up to date on the inner workings of the shop here with on going projects, dynos and other misc. I will go ahead and let everyone know Im not going to have every answer for every question. I hope some of the guys will chime in and help out. If you have any questions feel free to ask Ill do my best. Hope you guys enjoy the photos with more to come not only in this section but in others as well.
We had a customer request a full exhaust on his 335 diesel. With very specific details and with very limited options available we knew that fabricating one ourselves was the only option. Our Master Fabricator was excited to take on the challenge and set out to create a one off full stainless exhaust system for the vehicle. The exhaust system starts from our own in house 3in downpipe which continues all the way to a split 3in In and dual 2.5in Out Y-pipe and tailpipes. A custom mount was made to utilize the factory hanger by the transmission and all other mounts for the stock system were used with new hangers. This allows the use of the factory rubber mounts to ensure vibration and noise is cut down to a minimum. Another item requested by the customer was to make the exhaust easy to remove for future servicing so a v-band assembly was added at the merge for a simple midpipe and tail pipe configuration. To give this 335d a stealth look from behind the factory tips were cleaned and set back into their factory location but moved outwards slightly to help reduce any bumper exhaust build up. Needless to say this is going to be one hot setup !! _DSC8551 _DSC8557 _DSC8558 _DSC8561 _DSC8562 _DSC8563 _DSC8564 _DSC8565 _DSC8567 _DSC8570 _DSC8572 _DSC8573 _DSC8574 _DSC8575 _DSC8576 _DSC8577 _DSC8578 _DSC8579 _DSC8580 _DSC8581 _DSC8582 _DSC8583 _DSC8584 Last edited by Phil@BPC; 12-05-2017 at 07:56 AM.. |
