GTA: Purchasing 335i Coupe. Recommended Sales Rep and possible discount off MSRP
Hi there, I've been lurking this site for over a year while pondering what to get. Was seriously considering an Audi S5 (even test drove one in January) but decided on the 335 Coupe (S5 wait time is almost a year now and the steering felt too soft though the interior was amazing ).
Looking to get a loaded 335i Coupe that works out to an MSRP of 64,700. I know of the $4,000 cash back. What's a reasonable % I can get off MSRP in the GTA? Heard of 6.1% on this forum of someone in Vancouver. Hoping for 4-5%. Any recommended Sales Rep or Dealers? Also, what do additional charges (P&I, admin fee etc) work out to? estimating $2,400 for this. Thanks |

you can get 5%-6% plus any BMW Canada incentives.
If you have difficulty getting 5% I have a guy at BMW Mississauga who will give it to you with no hassles, but you should pretty much get 5% or better at any dealership

Thanks for the info Freddy. Quick question, is the 6%off the MSRP or the MSRP less the cashback. Trying to get a number and make offers (either via email or in person) to various dealers and see who bites.
Also looking for what I might get for my 2000 323Ci trade in; It has 99k. Black book (auction) trade range is 8.4K - 10.7K. Are deslers offering decent trade-in's or below blackbook. Rather not go through the hassle of private sale. |

Try Parkview BMW. Ask for Paul Campbell - he is the sales manager. He should be able to get you close to the discount that you are looking for. I tried to get similar number from BMW Toronto but only got 4% at best. Good luck.

Thanks for all the recommendations...
Thanks for all the recommendations guys. A few more questions.
Are there any other things I can ask them to throw in? Wheel locks, floor mats? Also, what's the going rate for tire insurance (getting 19's)? Any deals on this? Any other things I should consider? Alarm? |

I can only provide the pricing for 18" - $700. You should get them to throw in wheel locks and summer / winter mats. Maybe even the USB to iPOD wire if you are getting the USB option as the wire is additional.

Also, why does BMW say cash deal, but also list an APR %? I thought cash deal = paying the car in full. |

Asked for 6% off MSRP (base + options) + $4k cash back. So closer to $8K. You either take the cash back (pay in full or finance through a bank or line of credit) or get reduced financing. |

Thank you very much sir. One more question to clarify: so to buy a 335i under the BMW Spring Sales, I can choose either $4000 or 7.67% finance rate? I think the 7.67% is really high.. I rather take the $4000.

Made a deal!
Been a harrowing day negotiating a deal. Not easy to get a 2008 built anymore; July slots all taken. August builts are uncertain and $4K cash back ends Sept 2 (car must be delivered by then).
Finally managed to find a 335i close to my config available but it's in Calgary. Wanted Monaco Blue / Saddle / Burl Walnut / Prem / Sport / 19 / PDC / Nav / Prem sound / Comfort. Available was Black Saphire / Saddle / Aluminium / Prem / Sport / 19 / Serius Radio / Nav / Prem sound / Comfort. They agreed to dealer install Burl Walnut. Trade off was Black S. for Monaco Blue and Seruis Radio for PDC. Didn't do so well with the discount (got 3%) but I get my car in less than two weeks and the dealer covers shipping from calgary and install of walnut trim (about 900 or so they say). Could have got another 1% if I didn't want the trim changed. They threw in wheel locks and rubber mats for free. Did quite well on the trade in; got 10K for a stripped 323Ci (100K, CD and sunroof only). Black book range was 8.4K - 10.7K. So 10K is good. They initially were offering only 8K for the trade in so I walked away. Went over to Audi to see if they had a S5 for a test drive. They had a A5 with S-line trim instead; test drove it. Drives quite well and pull was good for a V6. S5 delivery is 8 months and works out to about $73K with Nav + deliver + $1k gas guzzler tax. Dealer said he could offer a (small) discount once 2009 prices are in. On my way to another BMW dealer got a call from the first one saying they had some good numbers for me... |

Good deal. 6% is a good target if you can get a 2008 with the options you like. Key point is do your homework. Know what your limits are, what 6% off nets to with your desired options and what the going trade in value of your car is (check canada balck book, available from toyota.ca and autotrader.ca to get an idea). If the net numbers (incl. trade in) are between 1-4% of your optimistic target do the deal.

Went to Parkview this afternoon, was originally shopping for a E92 328xi. Test drove a E92 328 and a 128i. I loved the 128 but it's too small. The sales guy gave me a quote for the MSRP !!! Which I didn't negotiate since I'm probably going with a 2009 order anyway.
Anyone knows when the '09 prices and option changes if any are out? |
