Crazy maybe, but I like Demuro

I thought this video was pretty good. Kind of crazy but I think Doug Demuro is one of the better non douche American car reviewers.

I like that he spends a lot of time on each vehicle. You can't knock his enthusiasm. He's a straight shooter in my book.

I like his videos. Different approach and lots of fun details about the cars. Not always 100% accurate on performance numbers but better than most...

I find his videos more palatable than his writing, which is too full of him trying too hard to be funny.

Doug seems like a good guy, and not a total d-bag like most on youtube who only use the platform to show off what they can afford in life. If I see one more "taking delivery of my XXXX" or "at the Aston Martin factory spec'ing out my new XXXX" video I'll puke.

I like the portion of his videos where he explains each cars weird quirks. I always learn something new there.

What makes you think you are crazy for liking Doug. He is the best in the business although he may need a better video editing skill but contents are A+.

He does not do much reviews on track, but that is okay to me. The real shooter.

Beside his Tourette like facial expressions, his clothing attire and hair which all make it seem like he slept in his clothes and didn't wash-up before videoing his reviews and the uneasiness that at any time a testical is going to fall out of his shorts when he squeezes into the back seat of a car and finally the put downs he gets on his Youtube comment sections.

I'm just joking above. But I didn't think Demuro had garnered praise for being a top auto journalist - Demuro is so good that I find Chris Harris's work to be repetitive and almost boring. Jay Leno is very good - extremely entertaining as proven by his Galaxy 500 video - I place Demuro not far behind Leno.

I completely agree -- and I'll even go so far as to say Demuro's approach is better than Harris because his reviews are far more practical to far more actual enthusiasts. He's relatable. Harris and the gaggle of YouTube DBags (Have HD camera/ego/buxxxx, will travel!) are decidedly not.

Bottom line: Demuro is not ashamed of presenting himself as just like most of us. That's why it works. That's why Leno works, too; Even though he's richer than most of us can imagine, he can make himself ultra-approachable and relatable. He's made a career out of that skill.

Doug the type of guy to put a bib on his ballsack when he pees.
Doug the type of guy to order food through the drive thru only to park his car and eat his food inside.
Doug the type of guy to shower with a raincoat on.

I couldn't agree more. The weird quirks is what makes him unique. I don't know of anyone else who bothers with those small details. It stuff that you find out on day 2 after buying a new car.

The last "look what I bought" video I attempted to watch was someone picking up his AMG E63S and I learned shit about the car and I felt like I was forced to hang out with this d-bag who was basically being paid by me just being there. I just felt used.

I have a like/dislike relationship with Demuro channel. Many videos are good and funny but found him bit critical over certain cars that should be given better reviews. I do like Hoovies Garage channel better.

Yeah, I don't agree with everything he says, but that doesn't mean I don't enjoy his videos. As long as you don't take it too seriously.

The way he talks, especially his accent and intonations, sounds like and reminds me of a younger version of Jay Leno...

Next time, close your eyes and listen to him, tell me i am not wrong...

I quite like him in manageable doses. All these guys wear thin if you watch/listen/read them constantly. Same is true of the Everyday Driver guys ... like the podcast and the YouTube stuff but too much of them is too much of them.
