Is it that easy?

I just got my new car and I have the Black Sapphire paint, it's seems if i just touch the car I get scratches on it.
I had some bird poop on it and I used a hose to wet it down than I gently wiped it off with a clean MF towel and now there are faint lines.
I also had a bug on the front and gently used my finger nail to get it off and there are marks there as well.

Is it really that easy to scratch the car?

Also is the clear bra noticeable on the black paint, I don't care about the line, just if your going to notice it were it is on.

Thanks

Very much it is that easy, water has and a mf will scratch paint. Buy a quick detailer, or just wash the car like normal. Water by itself has almost no lubrication or cleaning power, and your fingernail is sharp and hard of course it would scratch the paint. You are just stuck with the problem of having a black car which shows it much easier then every other color! Sorry for the bad news but detailers would never clean any part of a car with just water and a mf(even bird bombs ), or a fingernail for that matter!

I've noticed it is ridiculously easy to scratch the paint as well. I thought my last car had soft paint, but I can't get away with half the stuff I used to. I used to use my fingernail during a wash to get off stuck on bug guts, etc. But the first time I tried it on the bimmer, the pressure from my finger nail left a dent in the paint. I just have to remember this and get rid of all my bad habits I guess.

+1 it's that easy. That's why those of us with black cars don't go anywhere without QD handy. Black cars -- a blessing and a curse.

I couldn't believe it, my other cars were dark colors and didn't scratch this easy.
a blessing and a curse, that's for sure.

that's the problem with black. but once theyre clean, they are easily the nicest looking colour out there.

and about the clear bra. i have one, cant even tell its there. even where the bra ends its practically invisble. a worthy investment

QD= Quick Detailer. I always have a bottle of this with MF towels in the trunk. You never know.

black is a pain to keep clean, but no color is more satisfying to clean and no color looks better when clean.

I recommend megs Ultimate quick detailer or Zaino z6 and just keep a bottle in your trunk with a REALLY good microfiber

I just ordered the Zaino kit and I'm booking my car in for the clear bra. I'm going across Canada this summer so I'm sure it will pay for itself in that one trip.

Hey guys, is the QD a good solution for bird attacks while out, until the car can get cleaned properly?

When you detail the car, does the clear bra give the same effects as the rest of the paint. Like depth, shine... that sort of thing.

Dude, im right with ya my friend... know what you have to learn to do, NOT TOUCH LoL. I cant help it most of the time, u see something and you want it off...u use your nail, BAD IDEA. Then i slap myself on the forehead after it leaves a mark and say to myself, WTF am i doing

for bugs, get the bug and tar remover and a clean rag...its really moist and makes for a nice lil shine when youre done as well. use it all the time! obviously QD works as well.

I have heard nothing but good things about clear bras, if you really dont want it to be noticable, just get the ENTIRE hood done instead of just half way up etc...

QD = QUICK DETAILER
