Im so pissed...

Just got back a lil while back from my BMW dealership, I had a leak in my tire and they patched it up for me... Im aware that when you leave your car for servicing at BMW, they will usually wash it up...figuring that all i had to have done to my car was this patching, they wouldnt have washed the car...it was pretty much clean at the time.

WELL THEY CLEANED THE CAR, with steel fu@king wool or something...scratches all over the freaking thing, back and forth, round and wrong, diagonally. ITS A MESS, even the piano key door trim, scratched.

I just bought this car 3 weeks ago, just washed it yesterday in fact...there were a couple of teenie superficial scratches on the hood, now they are all over the place...and strong in some areas that i wasnt able to work it out...so i just left them alone and called the dealership back and told them i was going to be bringing the car back in and I want the problem taken care of. I dont want to hear that they scratching was already there, I dont want to hear "it couldnt have been us" I just want them to FIX UP THEIR GODD@MN MESS.

IMO, ask the owner if they want a wash... Let this be a lesson to anyone who HASNT been to the dealership yet, no matter how small the service, DONT LET THEM WASH YOUR CAR.

No offense but is this your first car?

Dealers will always wash the car unless YOU tell them not to. I make sure to tell them that i dont want a wash when i drop the car off.

They just trying to offer good service by doing it. Granted their "wash" standards are far from what we enthusiasts think is clean.

I'm the same way with how I clean my ball sack. NO ONE except me takes a wash cloth to my bag.

Diddy, im going to give them a shot to fix it up on their own first...if im not satisfied, ill ask for futher procedures to be taken.

and for crazy, im not sure how much you read into my original post, i was there getting the TIRE patched, i sat there for 2o minutes while they did this shiat...i didnt want a was, i wanted it patched and the car was CLEAN.

I explained all this pretty well from the get go, and NO its not my first car...but thanks for your brilliant insight. no offence.

if they arent going to send the car out NEW looking all scratched up and shit, they definitely should be doing it at any other point after their service.

I never said they shouldnt fix what they did, you definitely should go back and bitch.

My point was they always wash the car unless you tell them not to. No matter if its a tire patch or a simple 15min oil change.

Just take it to a local detailer and make them pay for it. Their detailing guy will do a half-ass job I bet. Are you near Picus, hes a great detailer and on this forum as well.

Sorry dude, Im just stressed out...aniexty through the roof, and I didnt mean to get poopy on you.

its just having to deal with them is most likely going to be a struggle. I can see the look on their faces when I suggest that they send the business out the door to get the car worked on, they will probably spit in my face. I cant see them being all that enthused about paying to get it done properly....

any suggestions on how to go about that, tell them that i rather a PRO clean it up opposed to the dude they got their...since they messed it up in the first place.

they didnt DESTROY the car, but there are dozens superfical scratches all over the car...some of them are 3-7 inches long...this was a POOR job, looks like they used DIRTY RAGS or something, no effort whatsoever. they even scratched the piano key window trims, thats not easy work to get out...going to have to try and ipod polishing kit or something.

and i live in CANADA, im guessing thats NOT close to PICUS... ottawa ontario to be exact.

Get a flex with some polishes- problem fixed. Have the dealership split the price of the flex and then you will have many years of service from the flex.

Sorry to hear about your troubles. If anything, at least you can take this as a learning experience and never let the dealer wash your car again. The swirls can be removed pretty easily by a good detailer and the car will end up looking even better than it did before the dealer scratches. So look at it as a positive thing.

When I take my car in to the dealer, I make sure to tell my SA not to have the car washed and to write that down in the work order and highlight it. I also put a big sign in my windshield and on the drivers seat: "Please Do Not Wash Car". This way, all ends are covered.

Good luck with the scratches.

They can't even wash a car properly and you're going to trust them to buff it? I wouldn't go that route, I would make them pay for a professional detailer of YOUR choice. Then I would call picus up if I were you, he does amazing work.

Haywire don't let them touch your car they don't know how to detail at the dealership.Where in Ontario are you I had the same thing happen to me when I bought my car.I ordered the car and told them not to bother washing it because I do detailing my self, well I go to pick it up and it was washed and came with scratches like I thought.I was so mad I told them I wasn't going to take the car, then I said the only way I would take it if they paid me to detail it and they did.I feel bad for you so if you are not to far from me I will remove the scratches for you for free if you like or you can take it to a good detailer near you,and remember just because they have a shop that doesn't mean they are good.I seen brutal work that has out of a fancy detail shop.

+1000000000000000000

We need Long to print some up.

Actually, we need those made like colorforms, where you can peel it off and reuse it (like the ones they stick on the windshield for oil changes).

I got my jet black e92 in germany. It paint was perfect (no swirls) when I picked it up and when I dropped it off a few days later. When I got it at the dealership, the car had (and has to this day) swirls on every panel. Pissed me off at the time and still does.

Also, I hate walking up to my car with friends. They'll notice something on the paint and then use their fingernail to scrub it off. Just last week I was talking to this retired guy I didn't even know (I met him from the place where I get my haircut) and something caught his eyes so he decides to use his fingernail to scratch it off! This is the 3rd or 4th time this has happened and I've only had this car for about 3 months since redelivery.

oh dude, i feel that hardcore...even the sales person that im dealing with did something that blew my mind! I showed him one of the scratches, keep in mind that the car had some dirt on it.... he takes his finger and starts RUBBING at the fu@king thing... I almost lost my mind, but i kept my cool and just hoped he would keep it brief.

some people just have NO IDEA, you just figure it wouldnt be the same people that sell 6 figure vehicles.

I feel your pain man.
