Order to Delivery?
How long is your order-to-delivery time span? I'm just trying to get an average because I think it took longer to repair my 08 335i than it would to order a new one!

It has been 9 weeks for me so far. Still no date for delivery, or confirmation whether or not my car is even at the dealer.

Ordered 4.29, taking delivery at the Performance Center on 7.10. So roughly 2.5 months. I think had I not done PCD in South Carolina, and just had it shipped to the dealer, I could've shaved off a week or two.

I ordered mine on April 18th I wont get it till around the first of August. 10 weeks between order and build and 5 weeks on a boat.
15 weeks is bullshit to wait for a new car that is already in production. |

That's lame, why is there such a delay?? Can you go to a different dealer and maybe get a sooner delivery time?

It's all about allocations
The delivery time depends, to a large degree, on your dealers allocation. They need to have an open slot for a particular type of car to schedule a production slot. Sometimes they get an extra car, or a port car if they are a large dealer. There are also times when someone drops out of the Que., and you get their slot.
Another unfair but true fact is that a really good customer, will bump an infrequent customer and get an earlier slot, or in some rare cases, "steal" a car ready to go into production for someone else. Dealer trades happen often as well, and if you are a good enough customer, they will trade an open slot or two for a really hot car, for an unsold car that might be at the port, on the water, or scheduled for production at another dealer. The bottom line is build a relationship with a dealer, and it is amazing how fast things can happen. I got a 335 convertible the first month they were released, the way I wanted it (with one additional option) and in a good color (white) and only had a two week delay. They worked out a deal for a car on the water for another dealer, and traded two of their slots for it. Good luck! |

I live in England and I ordered my E90 edition on the 14th April and it has just about to leave the factory so I predict about 2 more weeks.
I ordered mine a couple of days before a friend of mine exactly same model and he recieved his nearly 2 weeks ago but was told he got the last slot for the edition model for May and I got the first of Junes quota. |
