How to split E92 LCI Headlights?

Hey guys, I drive a 2013 E92 and want to get the 'blacked out' headlight look. Ive seen pictures online of the E92 LCI lights blacked out, but no DIY on how to split this particular headlight. Is the seal heat sensitive? Can I use an oven or heat gun to open it up, or do I need to do something else? Any help is greatly appreciated thank you. Attached are pictures of the stock headlight, and the look I am going for. http://www.e90post.com/forums/attach...1&d=1369021855

Apparently no, you cant heat them, you have to cut them open.

The LCI lights aren't stuck together with the same glue I think they are plastic welded shut

OP, you can bake them, but most people started off cutting them. It take precision to do it. Most vendors charge a butt load because they're "permasealed."

that means only heating them like doing that with the e92 pre-LCI ones is not enough, the e92 LCI headlights needs to be cutted to open them?

Hi mate, I haven't been on the forum much. I have a post where I done the black out on the LCI lights for my previous E92. They are a pain!

Easiest was is to cut around the edge and then use a sharp blade or something flat to cut through the perma seal as heating etc doesn't really do much.

The other option I thought about was to see if BMW sell the bare bones unsealed.
