Brakes covered by warranty??

Jw because one time when i went to BMW of Riverside, i told the guy i had just recently changed the brakes, that i bought from BMW in L.A., but he told me that i shouldnt have had to pay for them that there covered, but i just wanted to confirm because the service light for the front brake pads turned on the other day and i wanted to know before i go. Can anyone confirm this??

To take your money.

If you have a warning/light/indicator that tells you that your car needs something AND it is still under the original warranty period 4yrs/50K miles THEN it is definitely covered for the dealer to get paid by BMW for warranty work.

But if they charge you...guess they got paid twice for same service.

Yea see this was a while back, when i changed the rear. We had asked if they were covered and the guy in the parts dept. told us they werent. I thought they were covered from the beginning but back then i didn know about this forum and i really didnt know who else to ask. Well i still have a receipt from when i went so i should be able to get it back right??
Thanks everyone.

why did you pay for your brakes? was it because they were squeaking? did you replace them before the brake service light came on?

+1. It's not the warranty, it's the "BMW Ultimate Service" maintenance coverage. I'm not sure what countries other than USA have that.

i would think that they're covered but i think i read somewhere that BMW doesn't cover squeaky brakes under warranty.
