E90 LCI - Alarm Chirps
I want to have the option to turn on/off alarm chirps for our cars. Anyone here has one and how hard is it to install one?

Do you have the alarm system option installed?
If so, check the settings in your iDrive. If not you'll need to install and code it. It's super easy for the older cars because they're pre-wired. As for the newer models, they removed this pre-wired option. I have a 2009 and everything was pre-wired. The alarm came with 3 pieces and plugged right in. - Sensor near the cabin filter. - Sensor on the middle dome. - Horn inside the splash guard on rear driver side. |

As Peter Parker said, you need to make sure you have the alarm pre-wire option.
You technically only need 2 pieces to have the alarm beep - that is all I cared about, so that's all I used. You need the ultrasonic sensor that goes in the dome, and the horn. You don'thave to have the hood sensor. The ultrasonic sensor is also the alarm control module that gets coded. I got both parts from a junk yard for about $50 total, which beats paying $250 for the alarm kit. The siren didn't have a bracket, but 2 zip ties hold it fine |
