Quick battery fault question - 1 year old
Hi all,
320cd msport convertible 2010 Battery was on its way out last year - replaced with a Banner (I think) from euroCarParts. Same spec as original - coded it onto the car fine and been fine ever since. Stop/start started working again and off I went... 1 year later - noticed yesterday stop/start not working and all conditions like temperature etc should have been ok for it to work Drive 50 mins each way to/from work and parked on my driveway to see yellow Battey light come on 1 minute after shutting engine down (I was sat with radio on) Done some testing of sort. Seeing 14.3/14.4v whilst engine is running and everything turned off If I turn on AC, heated seats, lights, window demister it drops to 13.8/13.9v After an hour driving - I turn engine off and see 12.6v then it drops to 12.0 within 50 seconds I don’t think anything is draining the battery like my dash cam etc as I can see it shutting down, plus the draw is minimal on things like them Where do I go next? Can I proove battey is duff or does it look ok? Any other tests I can easily do? Taking the battery out is an absolute pain on the convertibles!!! Happy new year to you all Cheers |

Try putting it on charge over night. The terminals are under the bonnet, just pull the red tab of for the positive & the earth is a long hexagonal terminal (bolt?) on the inside front wing by the expansion tank
