Hey
What do you guys think about getting the badges on the bck of the car taken off(example 328xi)....i have been debating on it and have been going back and forth...ALSO can someone explain to me what it means to get a "M Aerodynamic KIT" for your car? Thanks |

I see no point. The weight saved is minimal and would further bias the weight ratio forward.

I like the de-badged look personally. I think it's nice to have it, unless you claim that you have the 335, then it's just plain tacky.

Its a personal preference. Some debadge it for clean looks, or to be different or even be discrete. There is no right or wrong answer to this, just passionate arguments.
There are two OEM body kits for the E92. The Aero kit and the M-tech kit. A simple search will net you plenty of pictures and details. Have fun and welcome to e90post.

It looks great. The ///M aerodynamic kit is a front bumper rear bumper and side skirts that are on the ///M cars. A more sportier look.
I am not sure if they are the exact ones on the ///M cars. You say you have a 3 it would be the ///M3's styling, if you had a 5 it would be the ///M5's styling, if you had a 6 it would be the ///M6's styling |

The aero kit is an accessory front lip and rear bumper kit available at your dealership (part number and pics aplenty with a simple search). The M-tech kit comprises front bumper, rear bumper and side skirts (found in M-Sport models, global markets). These kits have nothing to do with the M cars. FYI retrofitting the M3 bumpers on a regular E92 takes work (i.e. not direct fit).

How'd you explain the numerous debadged 325i's in europe where that model is in the middle to upper range? Its all personal preference.

typical snob answer from someone who thinks they are better than that of a lower HP 3 series. to the OP debadge is a personal choice, if you like the clean look go for it.

i debadged my car the day i got it. i have always done that because i just think it looks clean. but for instance, i would never debadge an ///M car because the badging is important to me on //M's

If someone were to mistake your debadged 335 for a 328 then they have no idea what a 335 even is. People who know enough to know what a 335 entails would never mistake one for a 328. Badged or not.

debadge it, its NOT AT ALL about trying to hide what your car is... it just truly gives a nice clean look to the back of the car.
anyone who knows anything about these cars should know what it is by looking at the exhaust and trim around the winows unless they have some mods done to those parts |

Actually, that's not correct. Few cars are debadged in Europe. The cars are ordered with the badge delete option so they aren't delivered with a badge (and hence cannot be debadged).

No, at least in Europe, many cars with the badge-delete option are higher versions and the owners do not want their neighbors to see that they have ordered engines which waste petrol unnecessarily.
