Cracked Alloy - Warranty claim?
Hi Guys,
Recently got my tyres changed and i have a cracked rear alloy(one crack), they are 19" 313 alloys with RFT . I have not hit a pot hole and the allow had no damage, i did have a puncture recently but never drove the car. I have 13 months left of my used car warranty, is this something that will be covered? Thanks. |

Doubtful but worth a try
I have a buckled rim and spoke to a very reputable alloy specialist and they said they get no end of BMW alloys in for repairs because they are so soft. |

RFTs that's the problem, the sidewalls are hard & to unforgiving for our potholed roads. Ditch the runflats & get a set of Goodyear F1s, Michelin super sports or PS4s.

Your dealer will do a run out test to determine whether or not the wheel has buckled, not sure on what the tolerance is but there's a good chance they will stick the blame on you.
Switched to non RFT Goodyear a couple of years ago and I have still managed to crack 2 MV4's, feel a bit uneasy driving around on a welded wheel so this one sitting in the garage with the other one. ![]() |
