Weird TPMS inactive issue on PreLCI

Having a TPMS issue with my 08 Pre-LCI E90 where "inactive" and the TPMS idiot light comes on. It can stay on for weeks, or go away after 20 minutes and be off for weeks. It's totally random. Figured "inactive" meant no signal IE dead battery in one of the tires, but I recently swapped ALL 4 wheels and tires with a known good set, paired em up, worked for a week, then back to the usual randomness.

I'm now thinking it's either one of the pickups in the wheelwells (is there 4 of em?) or the main receiver that goes to the ECU.
Any ideas?

It's just annoying, random beeping and Inactive popping up whenever it feels like it.

Bad wheel sensor.
I went through it. My issue was a wheel sensor.

In the tire or the pickup in the wheelwell? It does the same with 2 different sets of 4 tire sensors.

No guesses? Guess I'll start removing pickups and troubleshooting.
