spray paint - acura maxx guard

hey guys, so my gf and i want to the acura dealer (couldn't convince her on a bmw) and she bought a new car. They pushed this maxx guard protection program and demonstrated it by spray painting a car and wiping it off....for some reason i felt this was a bunch of bull. Like couldn't you buff it off, or would the spray paint bond with the clear coat and f it up? Additionally, they say you don't have to wax the car for 7 years? that sounded like bull too. Anyone have proof?

Total crap. May as well wipe teflon on the car and say it'll last forever.

The fact that it can be wiped off proves nothing. Any wax or pretectant can do that. Did they leave it on overnight and let it dry, I wonder?

The "Ming-like" guarantee is a lie, I've been down that road.

Skip it, take care of the car, add a good sealant and wax and be confident in the truth.

The truth is out there....

they sprayed the paint on the demo car and left there to dry, so you weren't able to just use your hand and wipe it off. They then applied some paste and wiped it off. Unless i have some concrete proof, doesn't appear i can talk my gf into skipping it.

Any good clearcoat paint will prob do that.

Its a shame that this bs is out there.

Not worth a fight with the gf. Let 'er do what she wants, its her baby.

If its the same paint protection type deal thing they were selling on the 05 RL, then I'd have to say that it actually works. It's much easier to clean and getting the dead bugs/bird droppings/tree sap/tar off the car doesnt really require the effort that it does in every other car i've seen. It's nice for the right price. I'd get it for under $350 or so. Especially since it's not your car and it'll keep it looking new without you doing a lot of the work
