R.A.D Detailed (oneshare325) 04' Suburban

Figured I should post some of my work to put some pictures with my posts.

Since these are my first posted pictures on a forum. R.A.D Stands for Richard's Auto Detailing

This was a new customer and thanks to the gas crisis and it being an older body style he no longer wanted it.. This detail was done right before selling it, the customer got an appraisal done before he called me and was able to sell it for a good amount more after my detail (I bet it was still shit though being a Big SUV )

The customer was very pleased and I got a pretty good tip off this one...

Anyways...This is up there as one of the worst cars I have ever detailed (not that I have been doing this for 20 years or anything ) but I think any detailer would agree this Suburban was pretty bad. The passenger side had SEVERAL Deep scratches and the biggest ran from the front fender to the middle of the back door! The rest were just random scratches from a dogs nails. I kept the car over night and delivered it back in the morning.

So on to my pics. Not too many afters; I was in a hurry to return it. The first 2 are just a quick before and after

... Sorry they are not the highest quality, if you see in the picture with me in it I am shooting with a Sony T1, an 8 year old pocket camera...

Looks great, and thanks for posting the links of the products you used. IMO, the guy should have kept the Suburban after the detail

When you guys use the foam canon, how long do you keep the foamy stuff on the car? Also, do you still use the sponge to clean the car, or do you just rinse the foam off?

I did 3 passes on 2 sets of scratches from a dogs nails, and the really long one on the fender...The rest of the car really only got one pass with the 105. (This was the first "real" time i used 105! Much better then Powergloss!)

I still washed the car like normal, I just use the foam as a pre-wash. Kinda like soaking your dishes before you wash them. The foam falls off after a couple mins and then I re-rinse and wash the car like normal!

That sure looks like J Glaze in the last few pics hahahaha
Thanks man...it was still kinda hazy (as you can see in the picture with me in it, but the customer just wanted to get rid of the scratches; not take it to a car show!

Finally we get to see some of your work, and it looks great! How'd you like using the rotary, nice and smooth compared to the RO machines right? Good job on the truck, that clear coat is rock hard so I'm not surprised you had to go with m105, isn't it a great compound?

I picked it up at about 2 one afternoon and gave it back about 11 the next morning. (I think I stayed up till about 11:30, and then finished it off in the morning)

Karscher honda motor gas powered something psi... I think 2.8 gpm....

Pm sending about the foam cannon set up!

Yeah totally! You could count on one hand how many times I had used it before this one...I had been using the flex on all my customers cars before, but this totally cut polishing time in half!!!

As for the 105, this was only my "second" time trying it but yeah, I had no really complaints about PG, but 105 finishes down SO much better!

Great job...The 50/50 shot is insane!! 3 passes with M105 will do that I guess!

After you foam up the car, would it be a bad idea to just take a washing mitt and start cleaning the car since the soap is already there?

That's what I do... I power wash, foam, power wash again, foam, then clean with sponge and power wash and try.
