MAP sensor wiring issue
Hi there. I have a 2008 335i coupe. Today i got my new aluminum charge pipe in the mail. Got to installing it and once i got it in place i realized the MAP sensor wire would not reach. Its about an inch or two too short to reach the sensor on the new charge pipe. Is there any way i can extend this wire or buy an extension for it? This is the first car ive ever worked on and i need all of the help i can get. Need the car to be running as soon as possible so any tips are appreciated. Thanks.

Just use some 14gauge wire and extend them use solder and heat shrink it will be fine

If it's the first car you've worked on, there is a 95% chance you just have that sensor wiring caught on something -what charge pipe brand?

I went with an XS power charge pipe. Not the best but my priorities are on maintenance right now. In the installation video, several other people commented they were having the same issue. The publisher of the video replied that he removed the intake manifold in order to unbolt the wiring box and move it closer. However, he did not include footage of this process. This seems like a lot of extra work to me and im looking for an easier route if possible. Again, charge pipe fitment is fine, just need an inch or two longer wiring. |
