Rotors/pads replacement question

Getting ready to replace front rotors and pads. Some of the videos I've seen say to suck some of the fluid up out of the reservior so it won't overflow when you push in the caliper piston. Other videos don't say anything about this. So, is it necessary to remove some of the brake fluid? I guess it wouldn't be a bad idea but will doing that cause me to then have to bleed the system? Also, are you supposed to lube the slider pins or not?

Bentley manual says don't lube the caliper guide bolts.....

UPDATE: Front pads/rotors change took 2hrs (my mechanic friend did most of the work). We did not initially drain any brake fluid from the reservoir but did open the cap (disco'd the level sensor first) to keep an eye on the fluid level to make sure it didn't overflow when pushing in the cylinder. It was fine until after fitting the pads at which point the level became too high to re-install the cap without an overflow (level also already over the "full" mark). So, we drained out some fluid with one of those $5 squeeze pumps and then pumped the brakes to get back to static level and then all was good. I went with stock like Zimmerman rotors and OEM Textar pads (oem i believe) because I like the initial bite with oem type pads and don't care about brake dust. Also got new rubber bushings that the caliper pins go through. Gonna bed these suckers in tomorrow night on the highway per Zimmerman instructions....Also got everything through FCP Euro so unbelievably these rotors and pads have a lifetime warranty....when the pads wear out, send them back and get new ones free! Sounds crazy but their literature explicitly includes brake pads and rotors, we'll see. Anybody ever take advantage of this?

I was also able to reset the stupid brake light warning that I've been looking at for over a year (Yeah my pads were really thin)....Don't ask me how,I just kept pressing buttons till it went away....probably would have went smoother had I not had the emergency brake on
