Garage remote may have been cloned, now what?
I suspect one of my garage door remotes may have been cloned.
I followed the manufacturer's instructions to reset and relearn, but am wondering if that's pointless (because that's the same as the clone) and should just throw away the remote that's been compromised and buy a new one instead. I arrived at this conclusion after seeing the home link remotes in my car, which are essentially clones themselves, start working immediately after I paired the old garage remote back to the door. Doesn't that mean it's the same old code and reset did nothing? |

Unplug your garage door opener.

This would put me in the store (or online) today finding one that was not clonable (hoping such a thing exists). And you can unplug or turn them off manually while you are home. I bet s/b also makes a Bluetooth activator you could use on the secondary latch, if you want to be really sure. Also curious what tipped you to think you'd been cloned?
